Casper Aviation Platoon Reunion

Las Vegas ∙ June 27 - 29, 2006

Reunion Banquet

Our banquet dinner & dance was held Thursday evening and marked the close of another great reunion.  Besides Steve Greene, Art McBride & Ned Costa receiving awards for their leadership in 2006 -- More than a dozen other Caspers were presented with service awards as special recognition for their generous support throughout the year.  Senator Max Cleland was our special guest speaker and touched most of us with his words and thoughts about the Vietnam War.  Jerry Brown once again brought the two OH-6A main rotor blades for all to sign -- All very awesome!

Also special to us this year was the American flag shown above in our group photo.  As the 173d Airborne Brigade was leaving Vietnam in August 1971, Casper Crew Chief William Lupo noticed the flag was still waving over Ghost Town.  He quickly removed it from the pole and brought it back home. It was packed away for 35 years and is now another piece of Casper history for us to enjoy!
