Optional Events For Your Entire Family & Friends To Attend!

CHARTERED BUS TRIP:

Fort Rucker Tour & U.S. Army Aviation Museum Visit

Fort Rucker, Alabama provided primary training for Army Aviation pilots and mechanics.  During the 1960’s our Casper Platoon pilots began their flight training at Fort Wolters, Texas or Fort Steward, Georgia and continued at Fort Rucker, Alabama.  At Fort Rucker our pilots received basic and advanced instrument training, essentially how to maintain and control the helicopter through the use of instruments. They mostly flew TH-13 aircraft.  Next, they were transitioned in the UH-1 Huey helicopter before leaving for Vietnam.  Our crew chiefs (mechanics) were trained at various Army locations around the U.S. on single rotor (OH-13 & UH-1) helicopter maintenance, but the majority of our Casper Platoon crew chiefs completed their helicopter maintenance A&P training also at the United States Army Aviation School at Fort Rucker, Alabama.

On Tuesday June 28, we have scheduled a chartered bus trip to tour of Fort Rucker where many of our pilots had their second phase of flight training and most of our crew chiefs and mechanics completed their maintenance training.  We will stop for a coffee break along the way and stop for a BBQ lunch before arriving at the Fort. Following the tour we will visit The U.S. Army Aviation Museum. They have largest collection of Army helicopters and fixed wing aircraft held by a museum in the world.  This should be a great experience for everyone who attends. We will also stop for a coffee break plus a dinner stop at a seafood restaurant in Panama City on our return trip back to our hotel. This is an all day optional event leaving our hotel at 0900 hrs and retuning back at approximately 1900 hrs.

For your comfort, we are providing air-conditioned round-trip chartered bus transportation for this day trip and we would like to encourage all of you to travel as a group. It will make this event more relaxing for you and provides added fellowship, etc.

The cost is only: $TBD/per person. The boarding passes must be purchase in advance on a first come basis. This is an event designed for your entire family and guests to enjoy. If you would like to attend this tour, please click below and list everyone in your party who will attend event: YES - Fort Rucker & U.S. Army Aviation Museum Tours

Casper Family-Style Picnic | BBQ Lunch

On Wednesday June 29, we are planning an optional Casper Family-Style Picnic. It will be held poolside at our Bayside Hotel facing the beach (photos below).  The last time we threw a lunch-time party like this was at our 2004 in Las Vegas.  We believe its time for another one Don’t you!

The BBQ food is catered and will include the usually: All Beef Hot Dogs, Grilled Angus Beef Burgers and Grill marinated Chicken Breasts, along with Baked Beans, Red-Skin Potato Salad and all of the fixings!

It may not be exactly the same as our Tuesday Night BBQ and Volleyball at LZ English, but it will be a GREAT time for our Casper Platoon Friends & Family!

The Party will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. The pre-paid cost is $35/per person ($15/kids under 12). There will be a cash Bar near-by.  This lunch event will replace our Men’s & Ladies Luncheons.  We want to take full advantage of our stay at this awesome resort!
