Potomac Riverboat Cruise & Optional Dinner in Old Town

Historic Riverboat Cruises in Washington, D.C., sail the Potomac River, the waterway separating the capital from the state of Virginia. Our chartered cruise will run for 90-minutes and offer wonderful glimpses of Washington landmarks.

After the cruise, you will also have the opportunity along the west bank of the Potomac River, to visit and sightsee in the Old Town historic district of Alexandria, Virginia.

Here you will be offered a glimpse into America's past. Walking the cobblestone streets, visitors can enjoy art galleries, museums, antique shops, restaurants and entertainment.  There are 4 very nice restaurants that we recommend where you and your family and guests can break a way from the group and enjoy a nice dinner before returning to the hotel.

The transportation to Alexandria docks is easy, fun and inexpensive. As a group, we can all leave from the station across the street from our hotel and ride the Metro to the King Street station. From there, a free ride on the King Street Trolley a few blocks to the docks. After the cruise, it's a short two block walk to King Street in Old Town Alexandria were the restaurants and shops are located.  We will return back to the reunion hotel the same way we came by trolley and Metro Rail.

The Potomac Riverboat Cruise is Casper Platoon only chartered sight- seeing tour for your entire family to enjoy.  It is an (optional event).  This tour requires the advance purchase of your boarding pass at this time.  The cost is: $25/per person.   If you would like to attend this Historical Tour, please contact Randy Plese and list everyone in your party: Potomac Riverboat Cruise - YES

Questions?  Please email Ned Costa: NCHuey721@aol.com.

Haunted Ghost Walking Tour

A ghost walking tour is offered after the river cruise and dinner. This is optional . The price is about $7. Alexandria is a very old and historic town and offers lots of fun learning potential from a guided tour. So after the river cruise and after dinner we have the option of going on a walking tour of historic Alexandria. Trolley runs until 10:30 pm so we will have plenty of time to catch that and return to the hotel.  You can pay at the time of the tour but we would like to have a head count for so we can schedule the tour accordingly.

This tour also provides us a great way to walk off our dinner!

Veranda Cafe

Ladies Luncheon

The Veranda Cafe takes great pride in the friendly service, fine cuisine, along with a comfortable atmosphere.  The lunch menu features delicious beef, seafood and pasta selections. The restaurant is conveniently located upstairs in the Crowne Plaza Hotel making it a short walk for our ladies to enjoy some wonderful time together at this lunch.

Everyone will be responsible for ordering and paying for your own food and drink.  You do not have to send any money for this optional event, but we do need a head-count to reserve the space.  If you are interested, contact Bill Fielding: Ladies Luncheon - YES

Hamburger Hamlet

Men's Luncheon

We choose this restaurant because of it's location  across the street from our reunion hotel in the mall next to the Metro Station. The Crystal City Hamburger Hamlet combines the comfort food we love, along with good service and a delicious food... They are known for their great burgers. The casual vibe will also allow us to eat and drink comfortably during this time.

As you would expect, the restaurant is military friendly and the bartenders are friendly... Sounds like the perfect place for our guys to enjoy some drinks together, along with a great meal.

Besides lunch, this setting also provides us with a great location for a Casper group photo.  The plan is to take a group photo of all of the guys together, plus second photo opportunity for all of the Caspers who brought their Casper Platoon Leather Jacket.  As you can see in the photo, Buddy King is already "Clearing the Way" for us guys!

Everyone will be responsible for ordering and paying for your own food and drink.  You do not have to send any money for this optional event, but we do need a head-count to reserve the space.

If you are interested, contact Bill Fielding: Men's Luncheon - YES
