Tour of the Smithsonian Air & Space Center, White House & Bus Tour of Washington, DC

Little Butch, Aviation Hangar with visitorsOn Friday morning, we have arranged for bus transportation to the Smithsonian Air & Space Center.  On Saturday, we will enjoy a special 1-hour tour inside of the White House.  Immediate following the WH tour, we have a special sightseeing tour planned..  We will be able to view from the coach: US Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, House and Senate Office Buildings, FBI Building, White House, Federal Triangle, Embassy Row, Georgetown, & US Navy Memorial. We will step off the coach and visit: Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean and Marine Corps (Iwo Jima) Memorials. Each of our buses will have an on-board tour guide.

During this tour, our Casper Reunion Group Photo will be taken on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.  We have also planned a very special Memorial Service and Remembrance at the Vietnam Memorial (The Wall) for the 11 Caspers who were Killed In Action.

Reunion Meeting

Our reunion meeting is open to all Caspers and their guests.  Keeping with tradition, we will Honor our Fallen,  discuss our platoon, present awards, draw raffle prizes, introduce the CAPO 2006 President & Vice President and introduce the 2006 Reunion Chairman who will announce next year's reunion location.

Our Guest Speaker at this event will be United States Army Brigadier General Jeffrey Schloesser, Director of the Army Aviation Task Force Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3.

Immediately following the meeting will be the showing of: In The Shadow Of The Blade.   This emotion-packed documentary film will be shown at the close of our Saturday Reunion Meeting. This movie follows the 10,000-mile journey of a battle-scarred UH-1 "Huey" helicopter into America's backyards to hear the untold stories of America's Vietnam War veterans and the families who waited for them to come home. The evocative healing power of this film has been described as "the most important thing to happen to Vietnam veterans since the dedication of The Wall. Strap in, pull pitch, and take your heart on a ride!   Two DVD copies of this film will also be raffled off as door prizes.

Banquet Dinner & Dance

A wonderful chicken dinner is planned for the banquet on Sunday evening.  Cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 pm.

Also, there will be a special military ceremony.  The 3d United States Infantry Regiment "The Old Guard" will be present to Post & Retire our Colors.  A special guest speaker, entertainment and dancing are also planned for the evening.

Singer, songwriter and musician Maxwell Taylor will ignite the stage Sunday night at the banquet.  Best known for his legendary ability to sound like an incredible array of pop stars from the 50's to the 90's.  With his one-man show he will ignite the stage with high-energy acts.  Amazingly, Maxwell combines his soulful, sultry, 5-octave range voice with exceptional, distinguished, legendary impersonations.

Maxwell's song list includes tunes from such artists as: Elvis Presley, Barry White, Righteous Brothers, Smokie Robinson, Phil Collins, B.J. Thomas, George Benson, Frank Sinatra, Eric Clapton, Marvin Gaye, Doobie Brothers, Billy Joel, Nat King Cole, Al Green, Kenny Rogers, Sammy Davis Jr. and many more.

Our Guest Speaker for the night will be Rudy Gresham, Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Dress Code

Casual dress for the Ice Breaker Party and the Reunion Meeting.  It is not mandatory, but it would look sharp if all of the guys wore the Casper Reunion T-Shirt on the Bus Tour - especially for the group photo on Saturday.  However, the Banquet & Dance is semi-formal, cocktail attire.
